The Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Evgeny Lyulin, visited the Nizhny Novgorod Higher Military-Engineering Command School (NVVIKU), which reopened this year in Kstovo. He reported this on his Telegram channel.
The military educational institution, founded by decree of Peter I, will mark its 325th anniversary next year. Among its well-known graduates are Mikhail Kutuzov, Eduard Totleben, Roman Kondratenko and Dmitry Karbyshev.
During the visit, Lyulin inspected classrooms, the technical base and military equipment. He noted that the school trains specialists in several fields: electrical engineers, radio-telemechanics specialists and mechanics of specialized equipment.
In addition, if necessary civilian specialists in demand in the regional economy will be able to train here. At present, 23 groups of cadets are undergoing training at the school.
The new educational structure began operating in September 2025 on the basis of the 210th Interservice Regional Training Center of the Ministry of Defense. Its task is to provide the training of military engineers taking into account modern conditions and the experience of the special military operation (SMO).
"We discussed the educational process. We are taking some issues under control," the speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region noted.
