Nizhny Novgorod residents exchanged small change for 4 million rubles during "Coin Week".

      15 November 2025 13:58 Economy During the all-Russian "Coin Week" campaign (18+), residents of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast brought more than 900,000 coins to banks. The total amount exchanged exceeded 4 million rubles. This was reported by the press service of the Volga-Vyatka Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia.

      Citizens could hand in coins of any denominations in circulation and exchange them for banknotes or deposit them into a bank account. Coins of 1 and 10 rubles were the most commonly handed in.

      Across the regions under the responsibility of the Volga-Vyatka Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia, 5.23 million coins were handed in during the campaign for a total of more than 24 million rubles. The total weight of the coins amounted to more than 67 kilograms.

      The Bank of Russia reminds that coins can be returned to circulation not only during special campaigns. Small change can be used to pay for purchases and services in everyday life.
