A fatal crash occurred in the Ardatov district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, in which two people died. This was reported by the press service of the regional State Traffic Inspectorate.
According to preliminary information, a 59-year-old driver of a Mercedes truck failed to keep a safe distance and rear-ended a Volkswagen Polo driven by a 27-year-old man.
The impact proved fatal for two passengers of the Volkswagen — men aged 27 and 45. They died at the scene from their injuries.
Two other passengers, a 22-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, were hospitalized in the Arzamas Central District Hospital with various injuries.
It is reported that both drivers were sober at the time of the accident. The causes and circumstances of the crash are still being investigated.
Earlier it was reported that a 75-year-old man from Nizhny Novgorod became unwell behind the wheel, collided with a parked car and soon died.
