The State Duma will consider draft bills on labor guarantees for women and families with children.
October 27, 2025 18:40 Society Deputies of the State Duma will consider three bills aimed at improving labor guarantees for women and families with underage children. This was reported to 360.ru by Yaroslav Nilov, chairman of the Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans’ Affairs. The main initiatives concern protecting parents’ rights against lengthy probationary periods and irregular working hours. One of the proposals concerns women with young children. Currently the law prohibits employers from setting a probationary period for women who have a child under one and a half years old. Nilov proposes increasing this period to three years. It is also planned to amend the legislation on part-time work. At present an employer is obliged to provide such a work schedule to parents who have children under 14 years old. However, Nilov proposes expanding this provision to cover parents of children up to 16 years old, which corresponds to the age of school completion. In the parliamentarian’s view, adopting these amendments will help strengthen the social protection of families with children and create more flexible working conditions. It will also contribute to achieving strategic goals in demographic policy and family support. NIA “Nizhny Novgorod” has a Telegram channel.
