Natalya Tarabarina from the Nizhny Novgorod region has been awarded the honorary title "Mother Heroine" by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported on his social media by the region's governor, Gleb Nikitin.
Natalya and her husband Sergey are raising 14 children: ten daughters and four sons. The oldest child is already 29 years old, and the youngest is only 3. All the children in the family are biological, and they are being raised in an atmosphere of love and care.
The Tarabarin family not only lives in a large house they built with their own hands in the Pavlovsky District, but they also actively manage their household and farm. Their interests are varied: from creative pursuits and sports to tourism. They enjoy visiting theaters and museums, which contributes to the children’s well-rounded development.
"My main hobby in life is supporting my children in everything — in creativity, sports, studies, competitions, simple joys. I take an interest in everything that interests them. My family is my fortress, a source of strength and inspiration. Of course, raising and bringing up children is a big job. But what matters is who is beside you. My husband is my reliable support and pillar. I wish all young women to find their feminine happiness," Natalya said.
Some of the children have already chosen their paths in life: some became teachers, and some became medical professionals. Natalya’s eldest daughter has become a mother herself and is raising four children. This shows that the values of a happy, close-knit family are passed down from generation to generation.
"Congratulations to Natalya Dmitrievna on the highest state award. I wish the whole family harmony, well-being, and happiness! Thank you for being an example to all of us!" the head of the region wrote.
Recall that from 1 January 2026 new support measures will take effect in Russia for women who have given birth to and raised ten or more children. According to the government bill, such mothers will be granted benefits: priority medical care, full exemption from payment of utility services, free transfer of land plots into ownership, as well as an additional monthly allowance.
