The Nizhny Novgorod Ministry of Social Policy will provide scholarships to talented children with disabilities.
October 26, 2025, 08:55 Society — The Ministry of Social Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region has approved the procedure for awarding named scholarships to gifted children with disabilities. The document establishing the relevant mechanism was sent for anti-corruption review on October 22, 2025.
According to the text of the document, children with disabilities aged 10 to 18 inclusive will be eligible to apply for the scholarship. Mandatory conditions are Russian Federation citizenship and permanent residence in the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The financial award is intended for adolescents with disabilities who have demonstrated outstanding abilities and achieved success in various fields. Areas include education and science, culture and the arts, technical and applied creativity, sports, as well as public/community activities.
It is noted that the scholarship will be a one-time payment. Its amount will be 40,000 rubles. In total, 25 awards are planned to be given.
The draft regulatory act is undergoing public discussion. Comments and proposals from citizens and organizations are accepted until October 29, 2025.
Earlier reports stated that the basic academic scholarship for students at Nizhny Novgorod universities is about 3,200 rubles.
