A fan of Nizhny Novgorod's Torpedo became a millionaire thanks to his mother-in-law.

      A devoted fan of Nizhny Novgorod hockey club "Torpedo," Alexey Kulikov, unexpectedly became a millionaire thanks to a chance purchase of a lottery ticket. He did so at his mother-in-law's request. This was reported by the press service of Stoloto.

      "We were walking past a lottery kiosk with the whole family, we first bought a few other tickets, and I took this one last with the change," Alexey said.

      It turned out that that very ticket won him one million rubles. He and his mother-in-law had agreed in advance that, in case of a win, they would split the money in half.

      Alexey manages personnel at a trading company. He has been a Torpedo fan for 28 years and even travels to matches across the country; he plays football at an amateur level.

      The Nizhny Novgorod resident plans to put his share in the bank to earn interest — for the education of his two children.

      Earlier it was reported that a Nizhny Novgorod resident won nearly 7 million rubles in the lottery.
