      The Nizhny Novgorod office of Rospotrebnadzor tested in laboratories more than 1,600 samples of bakery and confectionery products over the nine months of 2025, the agency's press service reported.

      Four hundred fifty samples were tested for physicochemical indicators, of which 1.5% did not meet the established standards. A further 296 samples were checked for sanitary-chemical requirements, where 0.3% were found to be in violation.

      More than 800 samples were analyzed for microbiological indicators; documentation nonconformities were recorded in 1.9% of cases.

      All tested products complied with GMO and radiological requirements.

      As a result of the inspection, 28 batches of bakery and confectionery products with a total weight of 90 kilograms were withdrawn from circulation.

      It was previously reported that improper food storage may have caused mass poisoning at the Arzamas school "Sozvezdie."
