A representative of the Nizhny Novgorod Region won a prize at the 16th International Slavic Literary Forum "Golden Vityaz".
Archpriest Mikhail Rezin from Ardatov, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, became a laureate of the XVI International Slavic Literary Forum "Golden Knight". The award ceremony for the laureates and diploma holders took place in the White Hall of the V.I. Lenin Nizhny Novgorod Regional Library.
The award ceremony was attended by the president of the International Slavic Forum "Golden Knight", Nikolai Burlyaev, and the director of the International Slavic Literary Forum "Golden Knight", poet, writer and historian Alexander Orlov.
"I was told a story about how Shukshin showed screen tests at the Gorky Studio for Children’s and Youth Films, where he made 'Pechki-Lavochki'. He showed the tests, and one of the editors asked him: 'Where did you find those faces?' Shukshin’s Siberian cheekbones twitched, and he answered: 'These are my fellow countrymen!' It is about such people that the prose writers who came to our forum and who sent in their works throughout the year write — our experts read about 450 works, selected the 30 best, and these are, indeed, the salt of the Russian earth," noted Nikolai Burlyaev.
"I would like to note that the International Slavic Literary Forum is, perhaps, the most mobile literary forum in the world today. Just this year we performed in Khabarovsk, Irkutsk, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov Veliky, Tutaev, Yaroslavl, Berdyansk, Donetsk, Gorlovka, and many other places. And our final point — the awards ceremony, which first took place in Moscow, now in Nizhny Novgorod, and will conclude again in Moscow. And I think that is wonderful," said Alexander Orlov, director of the International Slavic Literary Forum "Golden Knight".
During the award ceremony, nine "Golden Knight" statuettes were presented to the best writers from Russia and the Republic of Belarus, according to the forum jury. Thus, the prize in the "Prose" category was awarded to writer Konstantin Alekseev from Moscow for the work "The Stranger"; the prize in "Literary Studies" — to Lyudmila Vorobyova from Minsk for the work "At the Source of Bright Days..."; prizes in the "Journalism" category — to Archpriest Mikhail Rezin from Ardatov, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, for the book "Stars Overhead", and to Irina Barsel from Moscow for the book "The Road to May 1945. For Everyone, For All Four Years"; the prize in "Literary Translation" — to Anatoly Avrutin from Minsk for the book "From a Clean Slate"; the prize in "History of the Slavic Peoples" — to Ksenia Velikhovskaya and Olga Uborskaya from Moscow for the book "Alexander Sergeyevich Orlov. A Truly University Man".
In addition, the forum organizing committee’s prizes — "Golden Knight" statuettes — were sent to Rostov-on-Don. They were received by the Russian Order of Friendship literary-artistic magazine "Don" and the State Museum-Reserve M.A. Sholokhov "Quiet Don". The organizing committee’s prize was also awarded to the museum complex "Sunny Circle" of the Center for Tourism, Local History and Excursions for Student Youth of Horlivka (DPR).
Special jury prizes and diplomas of the XVI International Slavic Literary Forum "Golden Knight" were awarded in the "Prose" category to Andrey Avramenkov from Voronezh for the book "City Under the Crosshairs", and to Bishop Gennady (Gogolev) of Kaskelen for the book "Vocation"; in the "Literary Studies" category — to Olesya Nikolaeva from Moscow for the book "A Look from Within". Also, special prizes of the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church "Road to the Temple" in the "History of the Slavic Peoples" category were awarded to Valery Khayryuzov from Irkutsk for the book "They Bequeathed Us to Live".
The Pushkin Gold Medal "For Outstanding Contribution to Literature" named after A.S. Pushkin was awarded to the Soviet and Russian prose writer, journalist and historian Sergey Mikheenkov from Tarusa.
The remaining awards will be presented later.
Recall that the final part of the XVI International Slavic Literary Forum "Golden Knight" took place in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast from October 15 to 17. The program included roundtables, creative meetings in the libraries of Nizhny Novgorod and the region, film screenings and concerts.
The forum was organized by the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization for the Development of Culture and Art "International Film Forum 'Golden Knight'" together with the government of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, the All-Russian public organization "Cultural Front of Russia", the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church, the A.M. Gorky State Literary Institute, the literary foundation "Road of Life", the V.I. Lenin Nizhny Novgorod State Regional Universal Scientific Library, and the literary-art magazine "Nizhny Novgorod".
