A rehabilitation complex for participants in the special military operation began operating in Nizhny Novgorod.

      A high-tech rehabilitation complex based at the Prosthetics and Orthopedics Center has opened in Nizhny Novgorod. It was created with state support for participants in the special military operation and other people in need of prosthetics.

      The project was implemented as part of an instruction from Russian President Vladimir Putin to create a network of modern prosthetics and rehabilitation centers across the country.

      According to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Maxim Cherkasov, 20.5 million rubles were allocated to create the complex.

      The complex is equipped for comprehensive and accelerated rehabilitation after amputation. It includes rooms for therapeutic physical training and mechanotherapy, an adaptation apartment with a kitchen for practicing everyday skills, and outdoors there is a path with various types of surfaces and a training area. The center’s work is built on modern technologies. It uses stability platforms, treadmills with biofeedback, suspension systems for gait training, and equipment for motion analysis.

      The complex also has an electromyograph and a psychological assistance office, which makes it possible to provide not only physical but also emotional rehabilitation for patients. All premises and the adjoining territory comply with the principles of a barrier-free environment: ramps, threshold-free doorways, and adapted sanitary rooms have been installed.

      “This complex is not just a building with new equipment. It is a space of possibilities where those who defended our Motherland and those who, by fate, have faced serious trials will be helped to return to a full life. I want to express my gratitude to the regional government and the relevant ministries for their help in implementing the project. This is our joint contribution to the future of many people,” said Dmitry Samoylov, General Director of the Prosthetics and Orthopedics Center.

      Earlier it was reported that a specialized nephrology center began operations at the Semashko Nizhny Novgorod Regional Clinical Hospital.
