Schoolchildren in Nizhny Novgorod were told about the region's tourist potential ahead of the premiere screening of a domestic animated film.

The event took place at the Rekord Cultural Center

On October 17, at the Rekord Cultural Center venue, the Ministry of Tourism and Crafts and the ANO “Mentorship Center for Adolescents ‘Khuliganodom’” held a joint event for schoolchildren from Nizhny Novgorod. Children from different parts of the region — wards of “Khuliganodom” — were told about the place the Nizhny Novgorod region occupies on Russia’s tourism map. In addition, a “cinematic journey” was organized for the kids — the premiere screening of the domestic animated film Finnick 2. In total, about 200 children took part in the event.

“Nizhny Novgorod Oblast is a region with a rich history, stunning nature, and a unique culture. Today the children learned a lot of interesting things about opportunities for rest and travel across their native land. The new film is also a small journey, an immersion in Russian creativity. We very much want the children to strongly feel their belonging to a great country and to realize how beautiful it is,” said Sergey Yakovlev, Minister of Tourism and Crafts of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.

The animated film the children watched is a continuation of the adventures of the detective house spirit Finnick and his friends.

“This is a story about friendship, the difficulties of growing up, mutual support, and the courage to be yourself. Our domovoy does not always act correctly, but he has a kind heart and reliable friends. That means even the most difficult situations can be overcome if there are people nearby who believe in you. I thank our Nizhny Novgorod colleagues for organizing this meeting. I hope the film will inspire viewers to create, help them believe in their own strengths, and remind them that there is always a way out. Believe in yourselves and do not retreat from difficulties!” said Yuliya Nemchina, General Director of the Riki Group.

The ministry emphasized that promoting tourism and advancing the region’s tourist potential is one of the agency’s priorities within the framework of the new national project “Tourism and Hospitality.”

“Such events are a unique opportunity for children not only to be among the first to see a new animated film, but also to feel part of a big event. It is important that children feel attention to their interests, develop their imagination, and also learn to understand the importance of art in their lives. All of this helps to form a love of culture among young people and inspires creativity,” emphasized Marina Yefimova, General Director of the ANO “Mentorship Center for Adolescents ‘Khuliganodom’.”

Reminder: the national project “Tourism and Hospitality” was launched in Russia in 2025 at the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. It provides for the development of infrastructure, production of equipment, training of personnel for the tourism industry, promotion of travel within Russia, as well as the provision of quality service and safe, comfortable trips.
