      New high-tech manufacturing facilities are planned to open in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was announced at an operational meeting of the chairman of the government, Mikhail Mishustin, with deputy prime ministers, which was held on October 20.

      Mishustin recalled that the country's president had previously set the task of strengthening industrial sovereignty. To accomplish this, it is necessary to modernize factory capacities and establish the production of priority products that have no Russian equivalents.

      "Significant initiatives in this area are currently being prepared at leading domestic enterprises. These include the manufacture of components and parts for the aviation, space and automotive industries, as well as equipment in the environmental engineering sector," the prime minister noted.

      To accelerate the launch of such projects, the government decided to substantially increase the maximum amount of subsidies for concessional loans. Previously it amounted to 600 million rubles.

      "Now, over the next nine years, it will be possible to allocate up to 3.5 billion rubles annually for such purposes," said Mikhail Mishustin.

      According to him, this decision will allow promising production facilities to be opened in several regions at once, including the Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov, Chelyabinsk, Irkutsk, Kemerovo and Moscow regions.

      Mikhail Mishustin instructed Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov to keep the implementation of these plans under his personal control.

      It was previously reported that assembly of new-generation Volga cars is planned to begin in Nizhny Novgorod in spring 2026.
