      The Nizhny Novgorod Region has once again entered the ranks of leaders in scientific and technological development, taking fourth place in the all‑Russian ranking. This is reported in a ranking prepared by analysts at RIA Novosti.

      Based on the results of 2024, the region scored 64.63 points, retaining its position in the top five. In 2023 the Nizhny Novgorod Region also ranked fourth. The leaders of the ranking were Moscow (81.82 points), the Republic of Tatarstan (70.56 points) and Saint Petersburg (70.11 points).

      The study notes that regions included in the top ten account for 65% of the total volume of innovative products and services produced in the country. This underscores the importance of the leading subjects in shaping Russia’s scientific and technological potential.

      The ranking was compiled using data from Rosstat and Rospatent. The analysis includes 19 indicators grouped into four key categories reflecting the state of the material and technical base, the availability of qualified personnel, and the scale and effectiveness of scientific activity. The ranking methodology uses a scale from 1 to 100 points.
