Nizhny Novgorod police detained a drug courier with 20 packages.

      In the Leninsky district of Nizhny Novgorod, police detained a 30-year-old man suspected of distributing drugs. He had managed to hide dozens of stashes containing prohibited substances before being caught by operatives, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region reported.

      The arrest took place in one of the gardening cooperatives in the district. The man was found with 20 bundles wrapped in electrical tape. An examination of one of them showed that inside was the synthetic drug mephedrone weighing almost 1.935 grams.

      Police established that prior to his arrest the suspect had managed to create about 50 secret stashes of drugs. As a result of operational work, officers were able to locate and seize the contents of 46 of them. All seized substances have been sent for examination.

      A criminal case has been opened at Police Department No. 3. The man is charged with attempted large-scale drug distribution.

      The Nizhny Novgorod resident is now in custody. The investigation continues.

      Earlier it was reported that 3 kg of synthetic drugs were seized from a 33-year-old Nizhny Novgorod resident.
