In Nizhny Novgorod, bailiffs handed over three vehicles to the Ministry of Defence of Russia that had previously been confiscated from lawbreakers. These vehicles will now be used for the needs of the special military operation, the press service of the regional office of the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia (GUFSSP) reported.

Two of them — a Mercedes-Benz passenger car and a Valday truck — belonged to drivers who had been repeatedly caught driving under the influence of alcohol. Both had already faced administrative penalties and were later charged criminally under the article on repeat drunk driving.

The court found them guilty and ordered the vehicles to be forfeited to the state.

The third vehicle, a Mitsubishi SUV, previously belonged to a 37-year-old resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region. He was convicted of the illegal acquisition, possession and transportation of narcotics. The court recognized the vehicle as an instrument of the crime and ordered it confiscated.

The SUV was also seized and handed over to the Ministry of Defence.

All three vehicles were sent to the military, where they may prove useful in carrying out current tasks in the area of the special military operation.

It was previously reported that the car of a Nizhny Novgorod resident with a hundred violations was seized after a roadside check.
