      Three Ukrainian drones were destroyed over Nizhny Novgorod Oblast last night, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

      According to the ministry, the UAVs were of the aircraft type.

      Overall during the night, Russia's air defense forces eliminated 40 enemy drones. Most were over Belgorod Oblast — 17. Another 12 drones were shot down over Voronezh Oblast, 3 over the Black Sea, 2 each over Tambov Oblast and Crimea, and one over Kursk Oblast.

      In addition, from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. the Nizhny Novgorod airport had restrictions on arrivals and departures due to the threat of a UAV attack.

      Recall that last week two mass UAV attacks in the region were repelled. On 7 October, 36 drones were shot down in the industrial district of Dzerzhinsk. Debris damaged some buildings and vehicles. On 6 October, air defenses intercepted 20 UAVs. One person was injured; according to the health ministry, after receiving medical assistance the patient was sent home.
