The Nizhny Novgorod Personnel Center "Work of Russia" provides comprehensive employment support to people released from places of detention. In 2025, job seekers with criminal records were hired as general laborers, carpenters, operators in chemical water treatment, and equipment cleaners.

The head of the Department for Labor and Employment of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Igor Pantyukhin, noted that it is often difficult for citizens with convictions to enter the labor market, but practice demonstrates the mutual benefit of such cooperation: employers gain motivated employees who are ready to actively carry out assigned tasks.

All employment service support measures are available to ex-offenders. Career counselors provide psychological support and assistance with social adaptation, match suitable vacancies, help prepare resumes and for interviews, and, if necessary, refer clients for retraining or advanced training.

The director of the Nizhny Novgorod Personnel Center "Work of Russia," Lyudmila Yegorova, emphasized that the service’s task is to ensure an employment option as early as the day of release. To this end, the center cooperates with the Federal Penitentiary Service (GUFSIN) and visits correctional facilities: three such events have been held this year, attended by nearly 50 people. Participants were able to learn about real vacancies, ask questions, and plan next steps while still in the penal colony.

You can apply for assistance at any office of the region’s personnel center or view vacancies on the "Work of Russia" portal. Additional information is published in the official VKontakte group of the Nizhny Novgorod Personnel Center "Work of Russia."

Recall that since 2025, on the instruction of President Vladimir Putin, the national project "Personnel" has been implemented in Russia. It includes four federal projects: "Labor Market Management," "Active Employment Support Measures," "Education for the Labor Market," and "The Worker." The aim of the national project is to quickly and effectively prepare personnel to meet employers’ demands through the coordinated work of educational organizations, business, and the state.
