Member of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Rustam Dosaev commented on proposed changes to the tax system that, in his opinion, could significantly affect small businesses. He set out his position on his personal Telegram channel.
According to the parliamentarian, he is actively discussing the upcoming reforms with representatives of the Nizhny Novgorod business community, and two key changes can already be identified.
"It is clear that the VAT rate will be increased from 20 to 22 percent, and the income threshold for applying the simplified tax system will be reduced from 60 to 10 million rubles," the deputy noted.
He stressed that lowering the simplified tax system threshold directly affects the interests of small businesses. In his assessment, such measures could deal a serious blow to entrepreneurs operating on the edge of profitability.
"It is understandable that the state needs to find sources to replenish the budget, but in this case we're talking about businesses that already operate under difficult conditions. An income of 10 million is essentially the turnover of a small retail kiosk. There is no question of any super-profits here, so entrepreneurs' concerns are quite justified," Dosaev explained.
He also noted that while large companies will face only a slight increase in tax burden, small enterprises will have to go through much more tangible difficulties.
"I will closely monitor how these measures will be implemented in practice," the deputy concluded.
Recall that a draft law on a windfall profit tax on banks was submitted to the State Duma.
