Nikitin inspected the renovation of social facilities in the Vachsky District.

      Gleb Nikitin, Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, made a working trip to Vachsky Municipal District on October 11. As part of the visit, the regional head inspected a number of educational and social institutions where major renovation work is underway or has been completed.

      The first site was Kazakovskaya Secondary School. It is one of 11 schools that opened after large-scale reconstruction on Knowledge Day. The school's refurbishment was carried out under the new national project "Youth and Children."

      About 150 pupils study at the school. During the renovation, classrooms, the dining area and the gym were modernized. The classrooms were equipped with new furniture and modern equipment. In addition, a sports ground was arranged for younger students. The total investment in the reconstruction amounted to almost 160 million rubles.

      Gleb Nikitin gave a positive assessment of the work done.

      "Such renovations oblige students to study well, achieve high results and make their parents proud," the governor emphasized.

      Earlier, in 2020, "Tochka Rosta" classrooms were opened at the school as part of the national project "Education." There, children study the basics of safety, work with VR equipment, engage in programming and 3D modeling, and also learn first aid skills. The school's pupils regularly win regional Olympiads.

      In addition to academic activities, the school actively develops a patriotic direction. A bust of Hero of the Soviet Union Sergey Sholygin, a native of the Vachsky district, has been installed on its grounds.

      The next stop on the visit was Kindergarten No. 2 "Kolokolchik" in the Vacha urban-type settlement. Major renovation work there was suspended due to an unscrupulous contractor. The contract with that contractor was terminated, and a new contractor was engaged to carry out the work. The kindergarten's refurbishment is being carried out under the federal project "Family Support," which is part of the national project "Family."

      The kindergarten is scheduled to have its heating and electrical systems repaired, the roof replaced, and interior finishing work completed. Playrooms, sleeping rooms, the music and sports halls, the dining facility and the medical office will be renovated.

      The governor also visited the youth center "Rovesnik." Its wards regularly achieve success in competitions. In particular, in 2024 the center's team became a prize-winner in the regional final of the "Golden Puck" tournament among rural teams.

      The center's building was constructed in 1980 and needs updating. Gleb Nikitin instructed the Minister of Sport of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Dmitry Kabaylo, to consider possible ways to develop the institution.

      Recall that the national projects "Youth and Children" and "Family" have been implemented since 2025 at the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.

      The national project "Youth and Children" includes nine federal programs, among them "Russia — a Land of Opportunities," "All the Best for Children," "Teachers and Mentors," "Professionalitet" and others.

      The national project "Family" comprises five directions: "Large Families," "Family Support," "Family Values and Cultural Infrastructure," "Older Generation" and "Protection of Motherhood and Childhood."
