From October 13 to 24, the second stage of the nationwide campaign "Report Where They Sell Death" will take place in the Nizhny Novgorod region. As part of this event, residents of the region can report instances of illegal drug trafficking, providing information anonymously.
A hotline of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nizhny Novgorod Region is operating to receive reports: 8 (831) 268-23-32. You can also contact the 24-hour duty stations of the police departments (OVD) or use the multi-line number "02".
The aim of the campaign is to involve the public in the fight against illegal drug trafficking and their non-medical use.
During the campaign, checks will be carried out in public places popular among young people and adolescents, with the aim of detecting and stopping crimes and administrative offenses related to the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs.
Residents of the region who report violations will be able to receive qualified assistance regarding the treatment and rehabilitation of drug-dependent individuals.
The police said that in 2024, as part of the campaign, 730 reports of illegal drug trafficking were received on the hotline. Based on the information received, police identified 44 crimes and 236 administrative offenses, and also seized more than 7 kg of narcotic substances.
Earlier, Nizhny Novgorod narcologist Alexey Favorsky explained why adolescents begin using drugs.
