An Orthodox gymnasium could be built on the site of the demolished Avtograd school.

      The demolition of the building of the legendary Avtograd school is coming to an end. As NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" was told by the regional Ministry of Property, 90% has already been demolished.

      The clearing of the site at 9 Shkolnaya Street is planned to be completed in 2026. It will then be handed over to the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese.

      It is expected that an Orthodox gymnasium will be built there. But this will only happen if funding is available.

      Recall that the building of School No. 1, built in the early 1930s, began to be demolished in September. The demolition is being carried out by the municipal enterprise of the Nizhny Novgorod Region "Regnedvizhimost." The contract price for the work is 27.7 million rubles.

      Earlier it was reported that in the regional center it is planned to demolish the building of School No. 121 on Tonkinskaya Street, which is in an unsafe condition.
