The 'Children in the Family' Service's internship site has opened in Nizhny Novgorod.

      The internship platform "Children in the Family Service: results, prospects, sustainability" began its work in Nizhny Novgorod on October 6. It brought together some 80 heads and specialists of agencies within the system for preventing social orphanhood from more than 20 regions where the projects "Vyzov" and "Prevention of social orphanhood among children up to four years old" are being implemented.

      "Today we need to train specialists who could help families in difficult situations. We plan to create methodological centers to train staff in all subjects of Russia," said the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova.

      According to her, at present within the "Zero-Four" project, 48 "Children in the Family" services have been established on the basis of social institutions. In 2024, thanks to their activities, 289 infants were returned to families, and 180 children were prevented from entering institutions. The project's implementation has reduced the number of children in baby homes by 47%.

      We add that the event was attended by the Deputy Head of the Office of the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights Ekaterina Balan, Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Andrey Checherin, and the Children's Rights Commissioner for the Nizhny Novgorod Region Margarita Ushakova.
