Pavel Egorov of Dzerzhinsk once again excelled in orienteering competitions.
An extreme level of motivation allowed Dzerzhinsk athlete Pavel Egorov to become one of the stars of the Russian Cup in orienteering in the sprint disciplines. In Pskov, the pupil of sports school “Magnitnaya Strelka” coach Konstantin Zybov won one gold and two silver medals.
“At the recent competition the last medals in sprint disciplines for this season among elite-group athletes were contested,” emphasized the mentor of our athlete. “Pavel Egorov was once again able to confirm his class as one of the country's strongest orienteers. Pavel, in conditions of the highest competition, managed to win once and stand on the second step of the podium twice.”
On the first day of the competition medals were contested in the cross-sprint (choice). Twenty-seven of the country's strongest athletes started. Master of Sport Pavel Egorov finished second, conceding only 9 seconds to the winner — Master of Sport Vladislav Loginov from Saint Petersburg.
On September 27 a cross-sprint race took place, where no one could compete with the pupil of the Dzerzhinsk school of orienteering, and in the end our athlete rightfully rose to the highest step of the podium.
The cup competition program closed with a mass-start cross-sprint, where Pavel Egorov was again among the main contenders for victory. The 23-year-old orienteer crossed the finish line second and for the second time in Pskov became the holder of a silver medal.
