On the eve of Teachers’ Day, an exhibition dedicated to Soviet teachers opened at Minin University in Nizhny Novgorod. The thematic exhibition “The Soviet Teacher: The Image of the Educator in the 1950s–60s of the 20th Century” (0+) will be on display in the university’s main building from October 3 to 10. Tours run every hour from 9:00 to 15:00.
“For us, keepers of pedagogical traditions, this exhibition is not only a journey into the past, but also an opportunity to see the origins of many principles that we carefully carry through the years,” said Minin University Rector Viktor Sdobnyakov.
At the exhibition visitors will be able to see a collection of authentic items that surrounded the Soviet teacher. There are garments, school supplies, and photographs of teachers from the post-war era. Each item has its own story and unique significance for understanding the teaching profession.
The exhibition is open in the main building of Minin University at Ulyanova Street, 1. Guests are welcome in auditorium 217 on the second floor. Any additional questions can be directed to 8(831) 262-2044 (ext. 235). For those wishing to visit the exhibition as a group, there is an electronic sign-up for tours: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kHx8nKOcbS095y-ISzBLEuOsMuFXU89uJEpcbWLmh3Y/edit?gid=1352328526#gid=1352328526
