At the first meeting of the first convocation of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma, the deputies unanimously elected Evgeny Chintsov as chairman of the parliament. This was reported by a correspondent of NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" who was present at the meeting on September 29.

Chintsov's candidacy was the only one; no other contenders were nominated for the post of chairman. All 39 deputies who participated in the vote supported him.

Evgeny Chintsov has previously held the position of Duma chairman. He was elected to this post in the autumn of 2024. He is also a veteran of the special military operation.

It should be recalled that one of the central issues at the first meeting will be the election of the mayor. State Duma deputy and former head of Nizhny Novgorod Vadim Bulavinov is confident that Yuri Shalabaev will remain in this position following the vote.

There were also reports of an upcoming change to the structure of the Nizhny Novgorod administration.
