      Relatives, colleagues, friends, like-minded people and students of the former principal of the educational institution Alexander Vasilievich Borodachev gathered for the solemn ceremony in the courtyard of Gymnasium No. 38.

      "The staff of the gymnasium carries out enormous work in terms of historical memory. This is memory about the fate of Russia, about the fate of our native city. And today is the day when the gymnasium opens a new milestone in its history — the day of the unveiling of the commemorative plaque to Alexander Vasilievich Borodachev. We know how much he did for the educational institution, we know how much he cared for his gymnasium, and I am sure that his image, which we all saw today on the memorial plaque, will accompany both the teaching staff and the students, who must firmly remember: traditions are originated by someone and are passed on by those living now, who keep in memory all the good deeds of the people who are immortalized," noted Olga Vladimirovna Paleyeva, Director of the Department of Education.

      Many kind words were spoken about the mentor and friend. For example, Larisa Mikhailovna Zhuzhoma quoted the poet Vladimir Mayakovsky: "One must live so that, dying, one is embodied in steamships, lines and other long-lasting deeds." "The life of Alexander Vasilievich is his embodiment in undertakings, it is the light he left behind. And light is not the walls of the gymnasium, it is the atmosphere in which we lived, in which our children studied. We were interested. Alexander Vasilievich was a generator of ideas. He always prompted us to do something, proposed what seemed impossible. And yet we did it, achieved, and lived a creative, very interesting life. He set a very high bar, and today the gymnasium meets it. New successes, new achievements, already new teachers, new students are making history. I wish you success! And never forget the first one who did all this for you!"

      The gymnasium truly maintains a high standard: in August the educational institution received the Honorary Standard of the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region as the best school in the region! And the museum exposition "About the Motherland. About Courage. About Glory" of Gymnasium No. 38 in the city of Dzerzhinsk was recognized as the best in the "Best City Museum" nomination at the regional stage of the All‑Russian Museum Competition "Know to Remember". In addition, the students consistently show high results on the OGE and EGE exams.

      "I could not but come today to my alma mater, where I worked from 1984 to 2022. Alexander Vasilievich was both demanding and understanding. He was a model of a man, an organizer, a principal for us," shared Lyudmila Nikolaevna Borodina.

      One of Alexander Vasilievich’s favorite songs, "L’Été indien," was performed by the gymnasium students. After the touching and heartfelt performance, many of those present had tears in their eyes.

      "For a teacher, the greatest gratitude is remembrance. Thank you all, first of all, for your memory. And to today's students I want to say: try to do your best, and remember that a lot of soul, work, concern and passion of many people who were here before you has been invested in this school. Please always remember that!" addressed Elena Anatolyevna Borodacheva to everyone present.

      Alexander Vasilievich was born in Dzerzhinsk. After graduating from the Gorky State Pedagogical Institute named after N. A. Dobrolyubov, he worked for more than ten years as a teacher of French at School No. 22 and for another two years as a consultant on the Russian language in France. He served as director of Gymnasium No. 38 for almost 30 years. Under his leadership it became a winner in the national "Education" project four times and twice won the city competition "Profi".
