A man died in a fire in an apartment building on Fedorovsky Embankment in Nizhny Novgorod. The tragedy occurred on September 26, the regional EMERCOM press service reported.
The fire started in one of the apartments. Thanks to the use of special breathing apparatus, rescuers were able to get five people out of the smoke-filled building. Another six residents were evacuated.
The fire covered an area of almost 5 square meters. The body of the deceased was found. His identity is being established.
EMERCOM investigators continue to work at the scene. They are to determine what caused the fire.
Earlier it was reported that arson is being considered as the cause of the fire in an apartment on Geroev Kosmosa Street in Nizhny Novgorod.
