The Ministry of Health introduced new rules for infectious disease hospitals in Nizhny Novgorod.

      The Russian Ministry of Health has approved an updated procedure for providing medical care to adult patients with infectious diseases. This was reported by Alexey Nikonov, a representative of the medical community of the Nizhny Novgorod region, on his Telegram channel.

      For the first time, the official document details the operating mechanism of daytime infectious disease hospitals. Such facilities are intended for patients who do not require round-the-clock medical supervision or isolation. This will increase the accessibility of care and allow for the rational use of healthcare system resources.

      In addition, staffing norms have been revised. Now one Nizhny Novgorod infectious disease doctor will be responsible for 15 beds instead of the previous 20. A similar reduction is provided for ward nurses — from 20 to 15 patients per staff member.

      The new rules will take effect on December 1.

      Earlier it was reported that the cost of creating the "City of Health" complex in Nizhny Novgorod, together with the renovation of the Semashko regional hospital on Rodionova Street, was estimated at 35.2 billion rubles.
