The Gagino–Bolshoye Boldino–Salgany road section was repaired as part of a national project.

A major overhaul of a section of the highway connecting the settlements of Gagino, Isupovo, Staroye Akhmatovo, Uzhovka, Bolshoye Boldino and Salgany in the Bolsheboldinsky District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region has been completed. This was reported by the Main Directorate of Highways of the region.
The work was carried out under the national project "Infrastructure for Life." This year, 5.6 kilometers of roadway were repaired. The contract cost amounted to 95 million rubles.
According to Leonid Samukhin, director of the Main Directorate of Highways, this road is of strategic importance: it provides transport links between the Gaginsky and Bolsheboldinsky districts and is the shortest route from Nizhny Novgorod to the village of Bolshoye Boldino, which is home to a museum-reserve.
Before the repair, the condition of the highway was assessed as unsatisfactory — pavement wear had reached 90%, which caused serious inconvenience for both local residents and tourists visiting cultural sites.
During the work, specialists laid two layers of asphalt concrete — a leveling layer and a top layer — replaced the wheel-stop beam and applied fresh road markings.
The entire road is 26 kilometers long. Since 2022 it has been undergoing staged repairs. In 2025, the renovation of the section running through the Bolsheboldinsky District is planned to be completed in full.
The last unrepaired stretch (8 km in the Gaginsky District) is included in the road works plan for 2026.
The national project "Infrastructure for Life," under which the work is being carried out, was initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is aimed at creating modern and safe infrastructure, developing the road network, housing and utilities, and public transport.
Earlier it was reported that the Belasovka–Kerzhenets road in the Nizhny Novgorod Region was repaired under the national project.
