Social community police officers helped repair the courtyard on Rodionov Street.

      In Nizhny Novgorod, the renovation of the adjacent grounds at building No. 17/4 on Rodionova Street has been completed. The work was carried out with the active participation of social district officers, who, together with residents, appealed to the administration to include the courtyard in the city’s improvement program.

      The renovation was part of a large-scale campaign to update 275 courtyard areas this year. Funding was provided from the city and regional budgets.

      According to local resident Irina Barashkova, the condition of the road had previously caused concern.

      "There are a lot of cars, heavy traffic, and there's a school and kindergartens nearby. We are very glad that, through our joint efforts, we managed to solve this problem," she said.

      During the renovation, the asphalt on the courtyard drive and sidewalks was completely replaced. New curbs were also installed and the carriageway was widened to increase the number of parking spaces.

      Social district officer Nadezhda Averyanova noted that it is important not only to listen to residents but also to respond promptly to their requests.

      "I am very glad that we were able to help people in this neighborhood," she shared.

      Guzal Khisyametdinova, a representative of the housing management company of the Nizhny Novgorod district that carried out the work, reported that the area of the improvement amounted to about 1,500 square meters. She clarified that the project was supported by the district following a vote by residents.

      Oksana Dektereva, director of the ANO "Public Self-Government of Nizhny Novgorod," reminded that in the city house-adjacent territories often include sidewalks and roads, which formally places responsibility for their condition on residents. According to her, this situation is unfair, and this year, by decision of the city's head Yuri Shalabaev, a comprehensive approach to repairs was implemented. It brought together the efforts of the district administration, managing organizations, as well as the city's departments of transport, road maintenance, housing and engineering infrastructure.

      "It is precisely thanks to this approach that we managed to repair the courtyard at building No. 17/4 on Rodionova Street," she added.

      Recall that the "Social District Officer" project was launched in March 2023 at the initiative of Governor Gleb Nikitin. It brings together active residents who help build dialogue between the population and authorities in Nizhny Novgorod, Dzerzhinsk, Arzamas, Bogorodsk and Kstovo.
