The minimum wage in Russia will increase by more than 20% from January 1, 2026, and will amount to 27,093 rubles. This was announced by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with members of the government.
The head of the Russian government noted that appropriate amendments to the legislation have been prepared to ensure the increase of the MROT.
"This measure will help increase wages for 4.5 million people. The figure is needed to calculate many other payments — vacation pay, sick pay, as well as related benefits," the prime minister said.
Mishustin also reminded that the president had previously emphasized that the MROT already exceeds the subsistence minimum, and such indexation will continue.
The prime minister added that the government constantly keeps the issue of raising the population's incomes in focus. Meanwhile, residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region believe that the minimum wage should average 49,600 rubles per month.
It was previously reported that Mishustin approved the calendar of public holidays and days off for 2026.
