Representatives of five Nizhny Novgorod NGOs were awarded for their contribution to the development of the volunteer movement.
A meeting was held in Nizhny Novgorod between Artem Metelev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy and head of the Dobro.rf ecosystem, and activists of volunteer organizations and participants of the KUPNO leadership projects. A special part of the program was the ceremonial presentation of letters of appreciation to the heads of five non-profit organizations from the Nizhny Novgorod region who made a significant contribution to the development of the volunteer movement.
The awards were presented to Artem Khokhlov (director of ANO “Miloserdie” [Mercy]), Natalya Simonova (head of the Nizhny Novgorod regional charitable public organization “Zabota” [Care]), Sergey Shukhrin (chairman of the council of NROO PSO “Volunteer NN”), Elena Dubik (head of the volunteer unit PromExcursovod of Alekseev Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University — NGTU), and Alexander Vikharev (deputy head of the youth affairs department, coordinator of the volunteer movement of the Nizhny Novgorod Eparchy).
During the visit, Artem Metelev, who is also a leader of the volunteer movement in Russia and head of the Dobro.rf social development ecosystem, held the first meeting of the regional Council of the Dobro.rf Association at the Volunteer Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. This is a new format of work for the association, which was established last year and is now being implemented in practice. Representatives of NGOs and volunteer organizations from the region shared experiences and initiatives with their colleagues. Meeting participants also discussed the key challenges facing the volunteer community, tools for increasing NGO efficiency, and options for closer integration of Nizhny Novgorod NGOs with the Dobro.rf ecosystem.
“It is symbolic that we launched the new format of the Dobro.rf Association’s work right here in Nizhny Novgorod — after all, last year the Volunteer Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Region was recognized as the best in the country. Thank you to colleagues for their engagement and for demonstrating the values of the #WEARETOGETHER movement,” said Artem Metelev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy and head of Dobro.rf.
At the meeting, participants agreed to roll out next year in the region a pilot project called the “Public Assistance Center” aimed at consolidating NGOs that provide targeted assistance to people.
Then, at the KUPNO.Start competence center, Artem Metelev met with the volunteer community, participants of the KUPNO leadership projects, and Nizhny Novgorod schoolchildren and students. About 400 people took part.
“This meeting and strategic session will give a powerful new impetus to our community. We not only discussed the key vectors for the development of volunteering, but also outlined concrete steps for further integration into the federal DOBRO.RF ecosystem. I am confident that this dialogue will significantly strengthen social initiatives in our region,” said Maria Samodelkina, CEO of the Volunteer Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
