80% of Nizhny Novgorod residents to some degree consider themselves happy, specialists from the SuperJob service found after conducting a survey among residents of the regional center.
28% said they are absolutely happy right now, and another 52% rather consider themselves happy. 20% of respondents called themselves unhappy; only 4% gave a completely negative answer, while 16% lean toward negativity.
Among women the share of those who unambiguously consider themselves happy is higher (30%) than among men (25%). The share of those who are rather happy is also higher among women — 55% versus 50% among men.
Respondents aged 35 to 45 are the most optimistic: one in three of them reported being absolutely happy (34%).
Income level also has a significant effect. Among city residents with a monthly income of 100,000 rubles or more, the share of unequivocally happy reaches 32%. In the group with lower earnings, it is 24%.
Marital status also correlates with the sense of well‑being. Among those who are married, 31% feel absolutely happy, among those who are not married — 25%. Parents have a higher share of completely happy people — 34% versus 22% among childless respondents.
