      An additional rubella immunization program is launching in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by the press service of the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor.

      The vaccination campaign will begin on October 1 and is aimed at increasing the level of herd immunity among the population.

      Rubella is an infectious disease transmitted by respiratory droplets. The virus spreads through talking, coughing or sneezing, and can also be transmitted from a pregnant woman to the fetus, which is especially dangerous in early pregnancy.

      According to experts, vaccination remains the most effective measure of protection against rubella. It not only helps to protect individuals from the disease but also reduces the risk of the virus spreading in the community.

      Medical professionals are urging residents of the region to take part in the program and get vaccinated, especially those who have not previously been vaccinated or do not have vaccination records.

      Earlier it was reported that a quarantine due to acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) is in effect in 20 kindergartens in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
