The Russian Union of Recyclers held the inaugural meeting of its business club.

      In Moscow, the first meeting of the business club of the Union of Recyclers of Russia was held under the chairmanship of Svetlana Radionova, where key issues of industry regulation were discussed. One of the main topics was defining fair rules for setting the cost of waste processing, which is important for manufacturers and recyclers.

      According to TV channel "360", representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (Minpromtorg), the Federal Environmental Operator, Rosatom, the Union of Recyclers and Manufacturers of Products and Packaging took part in the meeting. Radionova emphasized that environmental well-being is a national priority.

      According to Rosprirodnadzor, 153 organizations are included in the recyclers register. Ninety-eight of them process fifth-class waste or secondary raw materials, and 45 hold licenses. A total of 2,460 applications were submitted by 528 organizations.

      Radionova noted the industry's high dependence on imported technologies: 93.8% of capacities operated on foreign equipment. The problem of processing composite packaging and plastics was particularly acute.

      The results of the 2025 reporting campaign showed that enterprises submitted more than 98,000 reporting forms. Rosprirodnadzor issued nearly 25,000 control acts, revealing 1,700 cases and almost 3,000 warnings for packaging manufacturers.

      Recall that in 2024 Russia launched a register of recyclers, into which all companies engaged in waste processing within the framework of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system are obliged to enter their data. This system requires producers and importers to conclude recycling contracts exclusively with organizations registered in the register, which guarantees that the processing of goods and packaging complies with legislation.
