      Active preparations are underway in the Nizhny Novgorod region for tests of autonomous tractors that operate without a driver. This was reported to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" by the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

      As the ministry noted, specialists are considering various scenarios for testing the new agricultural machinery. At this stage, planning and coordination of all necessary conditions for conducting the initial tests are being carried out.

      The launch of the autonomous tractors in test mode is scheduled for the period after the completion of the main fieldwork. Specific dates and sites for the tests are still being clarified.

      The ministry emphasized that the final decision on the deployment of autonomous equipment in the region’s agricultural sector will be made based on the test results.

      It was previously reported that trials of various applications of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in agriculture are beginning in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
