Huge traffic jams suddenly formed in Nizhny Novgorod on September 16.

      Nizhny Novgorod motorists encountered huge traffic jams during the day on 16 September. According to the Yandex.Maps service, by 15:15 multi-kilometer jams had formed on the main highways leading into the city.

      Traffic was most severely hindered on Moskovskoye Highway, as well as in the areas of the village of Doskino and the village of Olgino. Drivers report heavy traffic in other parts of the city as well — near the airport, in Gorbatovka and on the Striginsky Bridge.

      There is no official information on the matter. However, it can be assumed that the jams are related to a number of major events that will take place with the participation of foreign delegations in the regional center this week. In particular, on 18 September the International Forum of Special Economic Zones-2025 (12+) will begin.

      And from 17 to 21 September the Nizhny Novgorod Fair will host a gathering of participants of the World Festival of Youth (12+).

      Another large-scale event in September will be the opening of the Nizhny Novgorod IT campus "Neimark." The Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region, Gleb Nikitin, had previously invited the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, to the ceremony.

      It was reported that vehicle traffic near the IT campus has been restricted until 22 September.
