      The Bogorodsk City Court delivered a verdict in a criminal case against a local resident. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 232 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (operating a drug den). The court found that a native of Bogorodsk from November 2024 to January 2025 systematically provided his apartment to consumers of narcotic drugs so that they could freely use the kitchen to prepare solutions containing narcotic drugs, use dishes and furniture, and store in this apartment items and devices used for consuming drugs. In turn, the owner of the premises paid the utility bills for the upkeep of the apartment and personally let drug-dependent persons in and out. As payment for the use of his housing he accepted cigarettes and alcohol. The defendant pleaded guilty; the court sentenced him to a suspended sentence of 2 years' imprisonment.

      The narcotic drugs seized during a search of the defendant’s residence were destroyed.
