      In Nizhny Novgorod, work is starting at the Zarechnaya metro station to install a covered pavilion at exit No.4. Repairs to the structures and roof at the neighboring exit No.3 are also planned. In connection with this, from 5:15 a.m. on 16 September 2025 vestibule No.2 of the station, which opens onto Kosmonavt Komarov Street, Druzhba Street and the adjacent underground passage, will be temporarily closed to passengers. This was reported by the Municipal Enterprise "Nizhny Novgorod Metro."

      According to the metro, during the works passenger entry and exit, as well as passage through the underground passage under Lenin Avenue, will be carried out via the opposite vestibule No.1. It is connected to the under-street passage between stairways No.1 and No.2, which leads to Zarechny Boulevard, the Rossiya Cinema, the Social Fund and a shopping center.

      The metro reminded that stairways No.1 and No.2 were opened after major renovations on 15 September and are available for passenger use.

      Under the terms of the new contract, in addition to installing the above-ground pavilion, the stairs and landings will be repaired, including the installation of a step-heating system and porcelain stoneware cladding. Stainless steel handrails and railings, a ventilated facade and interior wall finishes inside the pavilion will also be installed. In addition, the installation of a lifting platform for people with limited mobility and the laying of low-voltage systems for CCTV and intercom equipment are planned.

      Earlier, the Municipal Enterprise "Nizhny Novgorod Metro" reported the start of similar work at entrance No.6 of Zarechnaya station. A covered pavilion will also be erected there, the design of which was developed based on the architectural solution of the winner of an open competition.

      Please note that traffic on Lenin Avenue is temporarily restricted due to the ongoing works.
