At the RNF School
From September 9 to 10, the first event of the regional Scientific Accelerator of the Nizhny Novgorod Region — the "RNF School" — took place at the Ankudinovka technopark. The program included presentations, seminars and training sessions on preparing competitive proposals for grants. From NGATU, Potanina Irina Dmitrievna, a specialist at the Center for Interdisciplinary Scientific Research, took part in the event. The School’s speakers included Blinov Andrey Nikolaevich, Deputy General Director of the RNF; Mikhaleva Maria Nikolaevna, Deputy Head of the Directorate of Programs and Projects – Head of the Public Relations Department of the RNF; representatives of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the Nizhny Novgorod Scientific and Educational Center (NOC) and the Council of Young Scientists of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. "The RNF School is a unique opportunity for Nizhny Novgorod scientists to make a name for themselves at the federal level and turn their engineering and scientific ideas into real projects. For the region, this is a step toward new scientific breakthroughs," noted Deputy Chair of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Ekaterina Sergeevna Solntseva. "For the Russian Science Foundation, it is important to meet scientists directly, hear their requests and build an effective system of support for researchers, based in part on regional priorities. The region traditionally ranks among the most active in terms of the scale and variety of measures to support science and youth in general," emphasized Andrey Nikolaevich Blinov. At the seminar "RNF Grant Support," the main areas of grant support, systems of scientific expertise, features of competitive selection were outlined, and practical advice on preparing applications was given. Special attention was paid to RNF youth programs and the development of this area of work. In an open-mic format, participants were able to discuss issues that concerned them and propose their ideas. A master class "RNF Tools for Shaping a Positive Image of Science in Society" was also held.
