Construction of the Ice Palace on Strelka has entered the home stretch. The overall readiness of the facility has exceeded 95%, the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation reported.

Recall that one and a half months ago the facility’s readiness was 2% lower. To date, work has been completed on all three ice arenas, and internal partitions have been installed in the complex’s rooms. At the same time, the installation of the building’s facades is being completed.

Finishing works continue on the construction site in public areas and rooms beneath the stands, as well as the installation of engineering equipment. Final finishing has been completed on more than 65% of the area.

In addition, after completing the installation of the media facade, specialists have begun commissioning the media cube. Work on laying internal and on-site engineering networks is nearing completion. Landscaping is underway on the adjacent territory.

According to Igor Ishchenko, CEO of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation, most construction processes are at the final stage. He noted that commissioning of the arena’s equipment is planned to begin this month.

About two thousand people and more than 40 pieces of equipment are currently involved at the site.

Construction of the arena began in 2022. The facility was initially scheduled to be completed in 2024, but the deadline was later moved to autumn 2025. The main ice arena is designed for 12,000 spectators; the two training rinks – for 250 people each. The complex also includes a universal sports hall and an acrobatics hall.

The project is being implemented under a concession agreement between the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and LLC "Ice Palace," a subsidiary of JSC "Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation."

It was previously reported that the youth team of "Chayka" will play test matches at the new arena.
