      Society. A state of heightened readiness has been introduced on the territory of the 'Vodnik' stadium in Nizhny Novgorod. The corresponding decree was posted on the city administration's website.

      It is reported that the decision was made by the mayor’s office due to the unsafe condition of the buildings of the 'Vodnik' sports school. The special regime has been in effect since August 25.

      Earlier it was reported that the 'Vodnik' stadium was declared unsafe and access to it was closed on August 29. It later emerged that 14 major permanent structures on its territory are planned to be demolished. You can see how deplorable their condition is in our photo report.

      A Public Council is currently being created to deal with issues related to the future of the 'Vodnik' stadium. They plan to build a sports and wellness complex there with an indoor ice arena, a year-round football field and facilities for various sports. The master plan is expected to be agreed by the end of 2025.
