Torpedo snatched a victory from Salavat Yulaev in the season opener.

      A regular-season Kontinental Hockey League match in Nizhny Novgorod, in which local Torpedo hosted Salavat Yulaev from Ufa, has concluded. The game took place on 6 September at the Nagorny Stadium and ended with a 4–3 victory for the hosts.

      Scorers for the Nizhny Novgorod team were Vladislav Firstov, Vasily Atanasov, Alexey Kruchinin and Nikita Shavin. The guests from Ufa replied with goals from Ildan Gazimov, Maxim Kuznetsov and Danil Alalykin.

      After the match, the Minister of Sport of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Dmitry Kabaylo, expressed his gratitude to the players and the fans.

      “Great start to the season! Thanks to the team for the game, and to the fans for their support!” he wrote on his Telegram channel.

      The KHL regular season will continue until 20 March 2026. During this period 748 games will be held, spread over 182 game days. Each team will play 68 matches.

      The playoffs will start on 23 March and conclude on 23 May 2026. The first stage will be played within the conferences, and starting from the second round a crossover format will be used.
