      The Women's Futsal World Cup again eluded Nizhny Novgorod's "Normanochka". It was claimed for the fourth consecutive time by Brazil's "Cascavel".

      In finals, it is usually very important to score first. Alas, at the start of the match the Nizhny Novgorod side missed their chance. Elizaveta Nikitina, literally from a metre in front of the goal, failed to connect with the ball. By and large this was our only chance to score in the first half. Cascavel played more aggressively, but scored thanks to the guests' errors. First Betim, after a throw-in, gifted the ball to an opponent, and then our other Brazilian Fernanda blundered — 0:2.

      The game did not change much in the second half. The home team created more chances, and eventually, after a nice combination, they managed to score against our goal for the third time. The only thing the Russian players managed was to score a consolation goal 20 seconds before the final whistle. In a 5-on-4 situation the scorer was Irina Pravdina, who is about to end her playing career — 1:3.

      "Normanochka" takes the silver for the first time (previously their best finish was bronze), and "Cascavel" becomes the World Cup holder for the fourth consecutive time.
