      Residents of the Kstovo municipality voiced their dissatisfaction over the refusal to admit children to the new kindergarten "Brigantina," located in the village of Bolshaya Yelnya. The reason — a shortage of qualified staff. Parents shared their problems in comments on the page of the region's governor Gleb Nikitin on social media.

      The new Kindergarten No. 39 "Brigantina" opened in March this year in the cottage settlement "Fregat" on Donskaya Street. The project cost 310 million rubles from municipal and regional budgets. The kindergarten has capacity for 240 places and is intended not only for residents of Bolshaya Yelnya but also for children from neighboring settlements.

      Ksenia S., a resident of the settlement, said that her children received placements in "Brigantina," but they are not ready to accept them as of September 1. The reason — an insufficient number of educators.

      "My parental leave caring for the younger child ended on August 25, the older one is four and is also at home because his previous kindergarten was closed and transferred to the eparchy. Where am I supposed to bring the children on September 1?!" wrote the indignant Nizhny Novgorod resident.

      Artyom S. also appealed to the governor with a complaint about the situation in kindergartens in the villages of Krutaya and Bolshaya Yelnya, as well as in the settlement "Fregat." He expressed concern about the large number of children awaiting admission to the kindergarten and the lack of prospects for their enrollment.

      Representatives of the Kstovo district administration acknowledged that the problem of a shortage of teaching staff is relevant not only for their district but for the whole country. According to them, the head of the "Brigantina" kindergarten has been actively searching for employees since 2024, posting vacancies on social networks and specialized websites. Attempts are also being made to attract graduates of pedagogical colleges and Minin Nizhny Novgorod State Pedagogical University (NGPU).

      The district administration noted that there are available places in Kstovo kindergartens for children aged 3–4. To submit an application, one must contact the Department of Education.

      The authorities also explained why children received placements in a kindergarten with an incomplete staff. The formation of groups took place back in April, and applicants were directed to "Brigantina" for vacant places. It was assumed that over the summer the staff would be replenished with graduates from colleges and universities.
