Nizhny Novgorod's Torpedo continues its preseason losing streak.

      Hockey club Torpedo lost to Minsk Dynamo in a group-stage match of the Moscow Mayor's Cup.

      The Nizhny Novgorod side began attacking from the first minute, creating sharp chances. In the 9th minute Nikita Rozhkov scored the club's first goal. The men from Minsk responded instantly, opening Denis Kostin's net. The first period ended 1:1; Torpedo outshot their opponents two to one, but once again their finishing let them down despite the large number of attacks.

      The second period went completely wrong for Torpedo. They failed to score and conceded two goals.

      At the start of the third period Yegor Vinogradov pulled one back and reduced the deficit. Five minutes later Nikita Rozhkov caught the opponent in his zone and passed to Ilya Chefanov, who with a precise shot put the puck past Fucale, equalizing the score. But Dynamo immediately answered and once again swung the score in their favor — 3:4.

      After the fourth goal the Nizhny Novgorod team fell apart. In less than four minutes Dynamo struck Torpedo's net three more times.

      Neither a timeout nor a power play helped the Avtozavod team to come back. The match ended in a rout, 3:7. At the moment this is the highest-scoring game of the preseason tournament in Moscow.

      Torpedo fired 40 shots on goal at their opponent, but once again lost due to their own mistakes. Nizhny Novgorod have still not recorded a single win in the preseason. Including last season, this is their 13th consecutive defeat. Torpedo will play one more match in the tournament on 31 August. The opponent will be determined later.

      Recall, the new KHL season starts next week. On 6 September the Nizhny Novgorod team will host Salavat Yulaev on home ice.
