In Nizhny Novgorod, a local resident who sold furniture and household appliances has been sentenced. The court found the woman guilty of large-scale fraud, the regional prosecutor's office reported.
As established during the proceedings, from December 2020 to October 2022 the defendant concluded purchase-and-sale agreements with citizens for the manufacture and delivery of goods. At the same time, she never intended to fully fulfill her obligations.
Clients were provided with deliberately false information about the fulfillment of orders, as a result of which they suffered financial losses.
A total of 41 people were affected by the entrepreneur's actions. The total amount of stolen funds exceeded 7.7 million rubles.
The court sentenced the woman to 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment, to be served in a general-regime correctional colony.
Earlier it was reported that six residents of Pavlovo were convicted in a butter scam.
