From September 1 a number of tram routes in Nizhny Novgorod will change. The adjustment of the traffic schemes is related to the completion of work on relaying tracks on key streets of the city. This was reported by LLC "Ecological Projects."

The reconstruction of the tram tracks was carried out on the section from Ilyinskaya Street to Malaya Yamskaya, including Malaya Yamskaya itself and the Oksky Descent. Work began in February of this year. During this time the contractor rebuilt the rails and completely replaced the contact network.

With the opening of traffic on the renovated section, Tram No. 18 will follow the route "Tram Depot No. 1 – Lyadov Square."

Route No. 27 will change its pattern and begin operating between Lyadov Square and the Moscow Railway Station. The terminus for trams on both routes will be Kulibina Street (Lyadov Square), which will allow passengers to conveniently transfer from one direction to another and shorten waiting times.

Tram No. 21 will also operate on a new scheme – from Dubki Park to Maslyakov Street.

It was reported that as of August about 90 km of tram rails have already been replaced in the Volga capital.

After the tram tracks in Nizhny Novgorod are renewed, a large-scale reconstruction of Ilyinskaya Street is planned.
