Nizhny Novgorod will once again be one of the venues for the "Knowledge.First" marathon.

The “Znanie.Pervye” marathon will kick off on September 26. On that day the program will unfold in eleven cities across Russia. The central venue of the marathon will be Moscow, where the educational lectures will run through September 28. On the same day the program will also be held in 10 cities, covering every federal district of the country: Chelyabinsk, Saransk, Nizhny Novgorod, Tver, Naryan-Mar, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk, Grozny, as well as the Rostov Region and the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Outstanding figures from across the country will take part in the marathon: from government representatives to cultural figures. The marathon is organized by the Znanie society with the support of the Rosatom State Corporation.

The “Znanie.Pervye” marathon traditionally covers the whole of Russia and takes place in different regions, giving young people the opportunity to engage with new knowledge and the experience of outstanding lecturers. More than 25,000 young people from all regions of Russia and other countries will attend the marathon. Over three days 120 lecturers will speak on the event’s stages. Among them are state and public figures, company executives, entrepreneurs, scientists, popularizers of science, masters of culture and art, athletes, bloggers and other well-known people.

“We will dedicate the marathon to the 80th anniversary of Russia’s nuclear industry. This sector gives many reasons for pride; it is a driver of the country’s development. The peaceful atom ensures our energy independence and opens new horizons for science, medicine, space and a number of other fields. Overall, the Russian nuclear industry is not only about the history of great achievements, but also about colossal opportunities for self-realization right now, about scientific and engineering breakthroughs. We will speak with young people about this as well, because it will be they who develop the country in the future. I am sure the lectures will leave no one indifferent. They will become a source of inspiration for everyone who joins us on these days,” said Maxim Dreval, General Director of the Russian Znanie society.

Participants will be able to view the nuclear industry from different angles and learn about discoveries, technologies and innovations that make Russia a world leader in the nuclear sphere and underpin the country’s sovereignty. In a live format, lecturers and listeners will discuss the significance of the peaceful atom for energy, logistics, medicine, urban planning, space exploration and other fields. Special attention will be paid to opportunities for youth self-realization in the nuclear industry and to the career prospects that are opening up in this direction.

The “Znanie.Pervye” marathon will be included in the program of the international forum World Atomic Week and will become one of the key events dedicated to celebrating the 80th anniversary of the country’s nuclear industry. In addition, as part of the career guidance course “Russia — My Horizons,” in partnership with the Znanie society, a session dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the country’s nuclear industry will be held in 89 regions of Russia, and a themed quiz “Znanie.Igra” will take place.

Znanie is a modern educational organization that annually holds hundreds of events for young people across Russia: it organizes thousands of talks by outstanding figures in culture, art, science and history, runs scientific competitions, contests and quizzes, produces films and helps lecturers in our country be heard and find their audience.

Since its relaunch the Znanie lecturers’ community has brought together more than 30,000 people. They have delivered over 180,000 lectures in 89 regions of the Russian Federation. Some 8,100 hours of educational content have been created on a wide range of topics: science, technology, space, culture and art, history, medicine, sport and more. Online broadcasts of Znanie’s educational events, as well as its educational video content, have gathered more than 2.3 billion views.
