      A large hole formed on the temporary bridge over the Tyosha River in the Navashinsky District of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, completely blocking passage. Local residents reported this on social networks on 22 August.

      The structure collapsed after a heavy truck drove across the crossing; under its weight one of the slabs gave way. As a result, traffic on the road connecting Vyksa and Nizhny Novgorod has been impeded. Traffic began to build up in the area, and many drivers started detouring via Murom, lengthening their trips several times over.

      The situation is worsened by the bridge's technical condition. According to eyewitnesses, the temporary crossing is covered in cracks and potholes, and the reversible traffic light operates intermittently.

      The main bridge over the Tyosha, which is currently under reconstruction, is scheduled to be put into operation by 31 October. However, as local residents note, construction work has virtually stopped. Now only the supports are visible at the site, and workers have not been seen for about a month.

      It was previously reported that 98% of the elements of the future pedestrian bridge had been delivered to Pochainsky Ravine.
